The mission of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is to develop, implement and promote voluntary international certification for behavior analyst practitioners through uniform credentialing standards. BACB currently offers two certification programs which ensure practitioners meet rigid standards for competency, education and professional conduct. Growth in these programs led BACB to look for technology solutions to better manage data, facilitate communications and enhance customer service in order to maintain the integrity of the program.
BACB began the search for a new technology solution by working with Professional Testing, Inc. (www.proftesting.com) to develop the requirements specification for the new system. Once the requirements were documented, BACB was prepared to evaluate its options and make an informed decision based on the solution that best fit its needs. In the end, BACB selected the Cobalt Certification Management Suite for its breadth of features and ease-of-use.
The Cobalt Certification Management Suite is comprised of a full-featured Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and a comprehensive web-based portal. It is capable of tracking all of the certification data required in an easily accessible, central location and includes workflow management and automation tools to streamline the certification, continuing education and renewal processes. Through the portal, the system directly collects data such as applications and education credits, handles online transactions and then provides status and balance reports to specific users. With these tools, BACB staff plans to automate many manual tasks, increase efficiency and improve communications.
