Cobalt Selected by Women in Cable Telecommunications

November 12, 2007

The Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) has chosen Cobalt as the most qualified vendor to upgrade or replace the unsuccessful Microsoft CRM-based membership database put in place by a previous vendor and provide seamless integration with their web content management and portal systems.

WICT (www.afia.org) is the world’s oldest and largest organization serving the needs of women in the field of telecommunications, having steadfastly served to support and promote women in the industry since 1979. Based in Chantilly, Virginia, WICT’s membership includes over 20 local chapters and nearly 7,000 members.

WICT wisely began the search for a new technology partner with the help of experienced consultants from RSM McGladrey (www.rsmmcgladrey.com). With the team of consultants’ help, WICT defined the requirements for the new system and the vendor competencies necessary for success, then evaluated the most suitable technology companies. Cobalt was evaluated along with other top AMS technology companies before being chosen based on its ability to provide all of the association management functionality required through the now familiar Microsoft CRM platform and for Cobalt’s demonstrated competency and integration experience, particularly with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

Cobalt will replace the existing Protech CRM4M system with Cobalt’s product built on the latest version of Microsoft CRM – The Cobalt Association Management Suite (CAMS). Cobalt will also work with Susquehanna Technologies (www.susqtech.com), WICT’s long-term, trusted partner for web site and web portal development, to provide seamless integration between CAMS and the SharePoint web components.

CAMS is a full-featured association management system with a fully integrated content management system with web portal. It is capable of tracking all interactions with a member from one user-friendly interface and includes workflow management and automation tools to streamline processes. Its built-in web integration enables a host of online member service tools such as: profile updates, event registrations, invoices and dues payments, dynamic directories and restricted access content all controlled by a very sophisticated yet easily administered permissions architecture.

Cobalt gives associations a better option when looking for a Microsoft CRM-based solution for their organization. Cobalt is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, the highest level in the Microsoft Partner Program with competencies in Microsoft Business Solutions, SOA and Business Processes and Custom Development Solutions. This proven expertise, years of in-depth association industry experience and Cobalt’s in-house staff of exceptional developers and dedicated support personnel place Cobalt well above the competition.
