This is a trick that I had seen elsewhere, but in honor of the release of Cobalt solutions with cross browser support for CRM 2011, I thought I’d share with those of you who are as excited about the update as I am.

A word of warning first, CRM 2011 was never designed to be accessed through a touch interface. So, I don’t recommend throwing away your desktop or laptop to conduct your daily business on that shiny new tablet just yet. CRM 2013 on the other hand was designed with touch interfaces in mind and also includes dedicated native apps, but we’ll have to wait a little while longer to make the jump. For now, here’s how you get your Cobalt solutions, built on CRM 2011, to run on your tablet.Dynamics-CRM-2011_iPad

When navigating to an organization on your tablet, append the following to the url (‘?web=true’). For example, if your organization is located at myorganization.cobaltsaas.com you can enter  myorganization.cobaltsaas.com?web=true in your tablet’s browser and you’ll get the full CRM experience just like you would on your desktop. If you attempt to navigate directly to your org without the web=true on the end, on most devices, CRM will redirect you to the old mobile interface. Like I said this only works post UR 12 for non IE browsers.

That’s it for now. I’m off to continue pushing forward our products and getting CRM 2013 compatibility completed for a future blog post. Thanks for stopping by.
